Hello, I'm Lisa Cook. I have been the second grade teacher at St. Mary's School for 10 years. Before I came on board St. Mary's Staff, I was a second grade teacher at St. Therese Catholic School in Lansing. I also attended St.Therese when I was an elementary student. My husband, Jim and I are parishioners at St. Mary Church and our three children, Lindsey, Jamie, and Jacob are alumni of St. Mary's School. You can probably tell by now that I am dedicated to Catholic education. I believe that learning takes place not only in the mind, but also in the soul of each individual. It is my goal each year to help your children grow in their academic knowledge as well as in their knowledge and understanding of their Catholic faith.
I completed a Master's program at Central Michigan University in Reading and Literacy, resulting in a Reading Specialist endorsement.
My undergraduate degree was earned at Olivet College with a major in English and a minor in Integrated Science. I have an additional two special endorsements on my teaching certificate, and they are English and Integrated Science.
I am looking forward to working with each one of your little darlings that you have entrusted me to teach. I am also looking forward to working with the parents of St. Mary's School. I have an open door policy with students' parents and encourage input on your child's education and development. If you can't stop by after school to chat, contact me via email at
