Our Preschool Programs emphasize socialization, sharing, and getting along with others in
a group setting through the creative use of activity centers. Each child is encouraged to
explore many aspects of their world. In the Preschool classroom, children are exposed to
basic shapes, colors, numbers and letters, while in the Enhanced Preschool and
Transitional Kindergarten classrooms, there is more emphasis on letter sounds, sight word
recognition and writing their own name. All of the classrooms work on simple prayers,
listening skills, singing and games, finger plays, and stories. A variety of art materials are
introduced with creativity being more important than the looks of the finished product. We
incorporate the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Prekindergarten and assess the
children in October and April of each year to help guide parent decisions on Kindergarten
entry the following year or two. Each child will make some decisions about what they will
do each day guided by our experienced and caring teachers. Our goal is to make this early
school experience a positive and happy one!
